Project Engineer - Upgrades and Enhancements

We now have a brand new opportunity for an experience Project Engineer to join our fast growing Benelux team.

As part of the Lifetime Services (LTS) team, the Project Engineer plays a key role in supporting the growth of the Upgrades and Enhancements (U&E) area of the LTS business, allowing LTS to realise its strategic and financial goals.

They work as a member of the U&E team to manage and provide the necessary engineering detail so that our solutions can be built safely, to all relevant standards and cost effectively.   Project Engineers work on multiple projects with a value from €5000 up to €5 million and will ensure the development of engineered solutions from customer commitment through implementation and handover.

Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate customer request into a design solution with support from U&E Manager
  • Review of design operational feasibility
  • Preparation of Material Flow Diagram
  • Value engineering of the solution to ensure the budget is made available for quotation
  • Preparation of system layouts out of customer request
  • Preparation of site installation packs (electrical/mechanical and controls)
  • Preparation of detailed specifications and design documents needed for production
  • Review of equipment design and specifications to ensure standardisation of design across all projects
  • Review of equipment throughputs and capacities
  • Preparation of the technical section of quotation
  • Technical analysis of tender returns
  • Development of design risk assessments and the review of projects to ensure that all current legislation is fully complied with
  • Participation in regular design team reviews including the preparation of adequate minutes
  • Participation in project review meetings
  • Surveying of sites and installations
  • Management of general project documentation
  • Ensure that the right TGW equipment is used (Technical detail engineering)
  • Provide technical sales support
  • Attend customer meetings as required
  • Technical specifications for 3rd party equipment
  • Knowledge of the regulations of the local authorities
  • Designing to the relevant CE norms / legislations standards


Key Requirements

Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a Project Engineering / Sales Engineering role within an automated materials handling environment for at least 5 years
  • ​Skilled in setting up a design in AutoCAD & Material Cost Calculation
  • Previous experience with providing management information to customers and TGW management
  • Highly self-motivated team player, that is able to interact with a large group of stakeholders both externally and within the TGW group
  • Excellent communicator with strong relationship management skills
  • Experience with being part of technical engineering and/or concept sales teams
  • Able to speak fluent  English & Dutch 
  • Writing skills in English & Dutch should be from a high standard
  • Able and willing to travel across Benelux and other TGW areas
