Mobile Engineer - Automated Logistics

The Northern Europe hub was established in 2010 from humble beginnings (the back garden of our COO along with our current CEO Andy Smith) and now operates across three offices in Northern Europe employing over 350 people. We work with clients ranging from FTSE100 to SMEs to implement small materials handling operations to complex fulfilment centres.
 
The Lifetime Services (LTS) department is responsible for providing the support, maintenance and improvement of client sites which have gone live with TGW’s automated solutions. The department is structured in a way which offers flexibility in the support to our clients, whether it’s via our on-site engineering teams, mobile team or via remote specialist support through our hotline team. In addition, we also have a team dedicated to offering upgrades and enhancements to existing sites.

Due to internal promotions, we are currently looking for an experienced multi-skilled Engineer to join our Mobile Team which are responsible for servicing, planned maintenance and project work across over 25 sites in the UK & Northern Europe.  
 
As a Mobile Engineer, you’ll travel to a range of customer sites, gaining exposure to a breadth of different customers within Retail, Automotive, FMCG and E-Commerce sectors. Alongside the support activities (repairs, breakdowns, PPM, etc.), you will also have the opportunity to get involved with upgrades and enhancements to these sites, as well as help with identifying future improvements.
 
This is a fantastic opportunity for you if you’re currently working in a site-based role currently and looking for your next step. Alternatively, you may already be working in a Mobile/Field position and looking to grow your knowledge across different sectors with well-known global brands and work on cutting-edge equipment and technology.

 

Key Requirements

Essential 
  • Previous experience of working in an operational or multi-skilled engineering role within an automated environment
  • Minimum NVQ Level 3 / City and Guilds in electrical or mechanical engineering
  • Completion of an electrical apprenticeship or an electrical qualification such as 17th edition
  • Excellent communication skills and customer focus
  • Ability to work in a time critical environment
  • Ability to travel throughout UK and Europe
 
Desirable
  • Experience of working with Warehouse Management Systems 
  • Previous experience working in a Field or Mobile Engineer role

If you are successful, you will be invited for a face-to-face interview with the Mobile Team Leader and a member of the Recruitment Team in our Market Harborough office which will also include a practical trade test to assess your mechanical, electrical, hydraulics and software/PLC knowledge.
